Rhymes help people remember things in the same way a song gets "stuck" in your head.
Here's one that I use to re-train their brain in a "quick-fix" way.
1. PEOPLE WILL RESIST WHEN YOU INSIST OR PERSIST
Have you noticed the more you push someone to do something, the less likely they are to want to do it? Coercion, nagging, manipulation and fear tactics over time don’t work. They hurt. You can only change yourself. You can’t change or help anyone who doesn’t want help or change. You can only change your response to them. Everyone has their own journey and has to make their own mistakes. Don’t you want that? Of course you do.
Give GRACE, Give SPACE
2. YOU'RE NOT BUILT FOR GUILT!
No matter what you have done, if you carry the burden of guilt, it will lessen your self esteem and in turn you will make choices on your belief of self-worth. It seems counter-intuitive, but guilt must be positively processed as a learning tool in order to make corrective choices in the future. You do not want guilt to become shame.Remember we ALL make mistakes. It's called being human! But we can learn from our mistakes. That's called wisdom! Also, a lot of guilt is false and imposed on us by religion, culture, survivor guilt and what we call the "tyranny of shoulds and oughts".
Think about what you WANT as opposed to what you HAVE to do.
